I've got a Makita 9227 and would like to be able to run it from my Jeep somehow w/out a generator. Do you guys think it would be safe to run it off of a 1000W inverter or any inverter for that matter?

Given my admitedly limited understanding, yes, it should be possible - as long as the inverter is capable of pruducing enough amperage to keep the buffer happy, but... I would question how long your battery would hold up to that kind of abuse if you're talking about not running the Jeep, if you are thinking about running the jeep, my guess is a good generator would pay for itself relatively quickly comparared to running the Jeep in fuel costs.

I have a 750 Watt inverter. I run a PC and the Makita 9227 with no ill effects for a few years.

The model is a
Maxx Vector 750 Inverter

Nice... I might pick up something like that. Perhaps I might grab a 1000W to cover myself for some other items I might want to power in the future.
