The highest I've found at an auto parts store was 1500 and 2000 grit. To get higher grits you probably need to go to a paint and body supply shop or right to a body shop, other than getting it online. Meguiar's Unigrit would be a good choice but they only go up to 3000 grit I believe.

Walmart carries up to 2000, after that you will have to go to a body suupply store.

I just ordered some single sheets from these guys that I found a link to on here a few weeks ago. These are not full size 8 X 10 sheets. I think that they are about 5 X 8

There is a place online where you can get up to 15,000 grit wet/dry paper..I believe its made by Mirka also...I had the link but I either lost it or deleted it by mistake....i was going to order some for polishing lexan motorcycle fairing...

I believe if you google micro grit sandpaper you will find it....you could get single sheets or 5 packs...and not all that expensive...like maybe 2.50 a sheet...9x12 also....

Mirka goes up to 4000. What you have in mind is Micro Mesh. They go up to "12,000". I put this up in quotes on purpose as they do not use same definition of a "grit".

ok your right..lol..micro grit....but it did list the 2000 2500 3000 and 4000 as mirka..the higher grits were by some one else but it was called Micro grit paper...but they did sell mirka in the lesser grit also....yes they used another term but had a equal to the grit...I think its called grade for higher grits...
