My dad was given a pretty beat-up mx-6 that has terrible paint. I want to take some system one polish to it but I'm not sure if it will do anything because I don't know if the clear is just gone or the oxidation is just THAT thick. Here are some pics as to the paint condition, you be the judge....is it even repairable?

Also, the heaviest cut pad I have is the black edge 2000 pad ( Foam Pad Chart (http://thedetailinghandbook.com/Foam_Pad_Chart.aspx) ) the site says its a medium cut pad but to me it feels like a heavy one at the very least. Would this pad be enough for what I need to do or should I go ahead and invest in some wool pads?

EDIT: I just realized I had some old foam compounding pads laying around.....if the black edge2000 is sufficient would this be enough?
