A couple of days ago I pulled my rear seats and trunk carpet. This is what I found. It looks like some type of grease and is very thick. I was wondering what would be the best way to clean this up? Any cleaners I should use so not to damage the paint anymore?

Looks like some dry sticky soda. Have you tried 10:1 of a APC ???

He (or is it she) is referring to an All Purpose Cleaner (APC) diluted 10 parts water to 1 part APC. Simple Green is a common APC that can be found locally. Some really good ones can be purchased at AG like Poorboy's World Bio Degradable APC. (http://www.autogeek.net/pbapc32.html) or Meguiar's APC (http://www.autogeek.net/mg10101.html)

The consensus on here was NO, and can be very risky on aluminum wheels.

Stoners Tarminator, or Poorboys Bug Squash. Both work on alot of small issues. Might be worth a try ...
