Gear driven da would be able to work up on edge.

I use heavier cutting foam pads for sections like that. The thick ones work the contours better.

Get a 3" backing plate or better yet, get a 3" machine.

8mm throw DA polisher with a 5" backing plate

Try 3" foam pads if you have a smaller BP.

3" DA backing plate which allows you to use 3.5" pads...

I find sometimes lifting a little of top or bottom will get it spinning again. Reduce pressure when doing and I increase arm speed
