Advice on best Glass Coatings/Rain Repellants!

Hi all,

I am in need of some glass coating or rain repellant. Currently, I have been using Aquapel, which has done a good job. However, I just used the last applicator on my wife's car the other day, so I either need to get more or perhaps something even better.

What are you all using, and what would you recommend? I've been kind of eyeing Gyeon's Quick View, but I don't know if it's worth the money. I did pick up some invisible glass with rain-repellant window cleaner. It works okay, but it doesn't last very long.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve got the Gtechnic glass coating (g1?) on all my cars at the moment and jt’s done a pretty good job for the last few months. We don’t get much rain here. Had a lot of rain on our trip to Montana in a Navigator with Gtechnic topped with Griot’s Ceramic window cleaner. The Griot’s added a slight greasy film at first but it washed/wore away. That film is what my wife hated about RainX.

I'll take a look at the Gtechnic glass coating. I am not a big fan of Rain X. I never really have been. There are so many options on the market right now, it's hard to choose which one would be the "best" for my purposes!

Similar experience with Griots. I’m happy with the inexpensive RainX.

I think you should consider Gyeon wet coat or 303 Touchless Sealant. While not a glass coating it works on the glass...and the paint...and the rims[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Angelwax H2GO is another good one. Spray into a microfiber applicator, apply to the windshield in cross hatch or circular patterns, leave for 10-15 minutes, and wipe off. Lasts 6+ months depending on how much rain and/or how often you use your wipers.

I have been using Gyeon Q2 Quick View since it was released and really like it.

While I have it on all my cars, I'm currently running it on two daily drivers. On my own daily, longevity has not an issue. I put that down to regular maintenance, being garaged overnight and I don't hammer the windshield wipers. In this scenario, I have found one application lasts 8 - 10 months, it's still there just not crazy hydrophobic like it is when freshly applied.

On the other vehicle, the windshield degrades pretty quickly, but the side glass holds up very well. That car is parked outdoors 24/7, doesn't get washed as often and is hammered with the wipers. For the side glass, Expect 3 - 4 months in this case. The windshield will be gone much sooner.

The application of Quick View is so simple that reapplying is not a chore.

Be sure to wipe the rim of the bottle after use and store upright as the lid on mine ended up welded shut.
