Hello All,

I may be picking up these Satin Black wheels. From the photos I have seen they look to have some light scratched on them. Not sure if there is any sort of clear coat on them or what but can I polish these as normal or do I need to take some extra precaution with them?

These are the wheels - APR WHL00020 APR A01 Flow Formed Wheels (18x9.0) (Satin Black) (1 Wheel) (https://www.goapr.com/products/wheel/flow_formed_wheels/a01/parts/WHL00020)

Thanks

Not sure you can polish satin and expect them to stay satin.

If you polish them, you will increase their gloss. You'll need to experiment a little to find a process that meets you're expectations, but be aware that whatever you do is going to alter the sheen to some point.

Another option would be to sand the entire wheel with something in the neighborhood of 600-1000 grit and then spray them with a satin or semi-gloss clear.

Thanks,

I may be getting them powder coated next year so maybe I'll leave them alone for now. Or at least try in a small area and see how it comes out. Maybe in the barrel of the wheel.

Thanks

Polishing matte/satin will leave them forever glossy.
