I've never given this much thought....but with so many things under the leather covers these days. Heated seats, heated steering wheel, cooling, massaging, etc....
Center console, armrest, etc.

I dunno if the treatment is going to be one and the same, whether it be coated or non coated leather (coated in the word of color coat vs dye). Obviously one will take on conditioner, versus the latter it won't.
I did start a thread recently about heating elements/steering wheel but wanted to just expand the topic further

For those that live in colder climates and do use the heated elements in the steering, seats, armrest, etc.....do you feel the heat affect how fast or not the leather *dries out*. IME, it does change the leather -form- a little bit due to what I presume is the foam and the heat/leather and 130+lbs of pressure sitting on it .

Never seen any evidence of drying out, imho the seats take way more heat in the summer than anytime the heaters are on

I suppose if non garaged out in the summer, it does get heat soaked
I gotta say, between a sunshade and high performance ceramic tint, even parked at the beach parking lot, etc - seats are not scorching with these 2 combos. It ded. does -reject- the heat to some degree

I was reading a thread. Center consoled was heated. This was dyed leather as well if I recall. Anyhow, leather was peeling off from the glue, etc. I believe the thread details was dealer replaced it under warranty, but it was due to defective part (heating element was getting too hot relative on that part)
-apparently- the heating element on it was defective, heating to high. Leather shrunk

Never noticed any adverse effects in my truck leather seats. 5+ years old. I used BF leather complete all the years to treat them. Sadly, I missed the heated steering wheel option by one year.

I'm generally not a fan of the heated seats - even at it's lowest setting.

I do like the heated steering wheel. Even today, at a balmy low 40's. I actually do like that.
