Been using dg 253. It’s really nice but the tires on my new vehicle need something else to amp up the gloss. I like tires on the glossier side but really want to stay water based. What are your favorites/suggestions? Thanks!

Griot's Black Shine is pretty glossy. I used it one time a few years ago to try it out, but it was too glossy for my liking.

I'm a 253 user as well.

There are a couple of products that will achieve gloss from a water based tire dressing -

Meguiar's Hyper Dressing (Undiluted) - This product is usully diluted to tone it down, but when used at 100%, it will gloss it up with the best of them. I fit a pop-top lid to the bottle to make application easier.

Carpro Perl (Undiluted) - Another product that is typically diluted, I use it straight from the bottle for more gloss. Apply two coats to ramp it up even more. Again, add a pop-top lid for easy dosing.

P&S Shine All - Use as is from the bottle, very easy to apply.

Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel - A thicker gel like dressing that can be quite glossy if required.

I love my PERL and lower sheen 252. I just bought Adam's Graphene and it doesn't last as long as PERL but I still like it also. What is your go to DFB? I don't have Darkside and would love to try it out. But I have to draw the line at some point:laughing:

Picking just one tire dressing would be tough, I have met very few that I haven't liked! Some do rise to the top of my list though, for different reasons.

NV Onyx - I really like this for it's silky smooth application, the way it looks and the sweet caramel scent.

Koch Chemie PSS - This is strange product, applying very wet and then flashing as if its got IPA in the formulation.

I know you wont like this, but it is a very good product and seems to work very well with difficult Michelin tires. Smells amazing too.

As for Carpro Darkside, I have used it a couple of times and I can say it's a nice product. Certainly not groundbreaking, but it produces a nice dark, unform finish. For the OP, Darkside is not water-based.

I was also going to mention hyperdressing undiluted. Should give the look you are after.

I was going to mention Poorboys Bold and Bright as well.

I like the glossy look and you can achieve that with Duragloss 253 if you apply 2 or 3 coats. I have also recently tried Griots Black Shine and that provides a great gloss. If you use the Griots, don’t use the pump sprayer. The product will never go through the nozzle and the nozzle will stop working. Go for the squeeze bottle instead.
