This is a repeat customer from May of last year. He had a couple of nasty scratches that I wet sanded out, then used System One X3 for compounding and polishing. That product is very friendly in direct sun...not many products are.

Final was 3M Performance Finish burnished into the paint. Came out super

After System One but before final polishing

I have another private detail this weekend: Black BMW 745 that another detailer left with tons of rotary swirls. Should be interesting.

Hey Toto, quick question. Did you wetsand by hand? Was the scratch deep enough you could get a fingernail stuck down there? What grit did you use 2000?

M4gician: I used a foam rubber pad on 2500 grit paper. It's a little gentler than 2000 and not as expensive as 3M Trizact 3000. The scratches were not deep enough to catch a nail, but there are 3 gouges in that group that were. I'll fill them in this fall.

Dang Toto,

I have been reading up on all of your details and your work never ceases to amaze me! The truck looks great!

Thanks so much for answering my questions. Believe it or not, it's actually helping me try and find solutions to other consumers problems. It's good to know that some scratches like that can be removed.
