Finally got my doors repainted, due to clearcoat failure. The drivers side doors had been previously repainted when it had been backed into years ago. So thats the only area that the clear was lifting.
Found some rust starting under the trim pieces where the panel had been body worked. So had to grind all the rust out. Found another little spot behind the front mudflap that needed grinded out and fixed as well.
Also resanded the front grille and had that resprayed. It originally was a chrome grille but I rattle canned colormatched it years ago and held up well but needed freshened up.
Some of the rust could not be ground out deep enough as i was afraid to blow right through the metal and did not want to do any patch work. So found this product called loctite naval jelly rust dissolver. With multiple treatments it removed what rust remained!
I did the prep work. Thanks to my buddy who did the body/paint work. Did great job.
Im leaving the ugly door trim off as it looks so much better now!
I will be in the future doing a full paint correction and then its gettin gyeonized. Last time it was paint corrected/ceramic coated was feb 2019. That was when i just started out with a megs mt300 da and their microfiber pads and d300 coumpound. Oh how ive stepped up my game since then! Lol
Thanks for looking. I will post up some more pics when i paint correct/ceramic coat it.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220731/797f0cb98eb91665afd96966d2a10be5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220731/b6c11ed34ba2b34325ce212b1c6989d9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220731/e505ed573b15521ba7a5da4b06c60b9d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220731/68196f274a0bab9120a74536dfac5c09.jpg
