Was looking at having a car wrapped in a matte / satin finish ppf and was curious on the various brands. The only one ive seen is xpel.

Are some better than others?

Thickness?

Quality?

Does it mostly come down to the installer?

I only know of Xpel Stealth. I think it really comes down to the installed. I have yet to see a car wrapped in matte that I'd be happy with. Mostly because there are panels that you just can't wrap around the edge. And when you can't, you're left with a sliver of shiny paint where the PPF coverage is not complete. From any distance it looks good but up close I think it looks bad. I've seen Lamborghinis, McLaren, etc wrapped in matte and cars of that level where you can see defects up close is just not good. Personally, I'd not do it unless the paint underneath was also matte which is much more rare.

I visited my Xpel shop to set an appointment and was shocked to see the back room full of cars getting stealth installed. I said' "I'm the only odd person here wanting gloss!"

Yea ive seen the gaps on my friend C8 and i can def live with it, more more easily then a color change wrap every time i open the door seeing the original color.

Thanks I believe xpel is the brand everyone seems to recommend.
