I'm at work and bored/irritated. I'm on day 3 of 7 day stint with no days off until Monday next week.

How are all of you doing?

Finishing my last beer and hitting the hay in a few.........

Hang in there, Don. I played that game (6-7 day work weeks and being on call 24 hours) for 30 years.

I'm very happy to be a lowly 40 hour a week guy with the 6 major holidays off now. :)

And I'm even happier to be a zero hours a week guy... One of the few benefits of getting old. :D

In my old job I ran the warehouse, and I was known for doing up to 14 days straight, mainly when we were doing stocktakes. I left there when we moved north, and it took 18 months to get a new job, but I'm much happier now, I'm bottom rung of the ladder, and the pay is almost the same. I think the longer you're in a job the more pay seems to go backwards.

I'm home today, we have bad flooding, and the one road still open to get me to work is next a river that's still rising. I decided to stay home, rather than hope I could get back home after work.

Hang in there, we all have days like these.

Certainly know how that feels, it can make you very resentful.

I scaled back a little at the end of 2020, going from 6.5 days a week to just 6. I was burnt out after dealing with a particular customer for near 15 years, I was so overbooked that I was never able to do things for myself. I also went near two years without a vacation.

Hang in there and reach out if you need.

That's according to PERS, NOT my employer, so yes, April Fools Day 2023 is the actual date I am eligible to retire. And you better believe that after that date, I will be retired.
