Hi guys, so I’m just starting with polishing and it’s gonna be a hobby really, but trying to learn to get the best results.
I was testing on some old yellow headlights, and what I did was:
P1500 sanding, P2000 sanding, P3000 sanding, cutting with blue Rupes compound and finishing with yellow Rupes compound.
headlights were pretty destroyed and yellow:

And ended up looking pretty pretty good:

Now my question is here. What was I supposed to do to remove these tiny tiny damages? My feeling is that I was supposed to do a bit more aggressive sanding? Maybe start with P1000 and do a bit more of it? This is what I’m talking about:

I usually start at P500/600 to ensure you get all the bad stuff off. Then spend more time in 1000. More time on 2000, etc. really could stop at 2000 and use a compound followed by a polish or 3000 and go to a good polish and medium polishing pad.

Welcome!
