I'm particularly concerned with scratches caused by dirt or other material being present in the window channel or whatever we call that horizontal seam that the window travels up and down through.

How do I clean this channel? How often should I clean this channel?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance! I have never cleaned the rubber channels and they have never damaged the window tint. I guess it wouldn't hurt cleaning it with a rubber cleaner.

I personally think you are over thinking it. I have probably tinted/owned 20 to 30 cars in my life and never had that be a problem

I've never had a problem with film scratching, and never cleaned the channel. On a previous car, I complained about bubbles in the drivers side film. It turned out those were nicks caused by my seat belt buckle hitting the window. I have another car that was tinted 18 months ago, and I also have a couple of very small nicks. I don't know how to prevent that other than being more careful with the seatbelt.
