New truck 2022 Silverado.
Black.
I had a quick chance to hit it with some Blackfire One Step last week to get rid of the dealer installed blemishes.
Looks pretty good but I know there's more shine ,etc. there to be had.
Next week I have three or four days free to bring it back in my small but heated garage.
What's a good finishing polish/cream and why do you like it?
Probably going to top it with Blackfire BlackICE Hybrid Liquid Wax since I have almost a full bottle. Then go over it with Dream Maker of course.
Thanks guys

Sounds like a job for Blackfire Polish.

I've never used it, but if the Blackfire line is working for you in general, it should fit right in.

I'm a big fan of Essence. Super high gloss, surprisingly versatile depending on your pad choice, and wipes off super easily. Love it. I've used it with everything from a wool pad to a black finishing pad.

You can put whatever you want on top of it, doesn't have to be a coating. I've put all sorts of waxes/sealants on top with no issues.

Blackfire polishes are good, but I'd also recommend the Griots BOSS line. Depending on the hardness of the paint either the Correcting Cream as a mid-grade polish, or the Perfecting Cream will serve you well in improving gloss.

EDIT: Corrected the names of the Griots products

I’d say either CarPro Essence/Reflect, Rupes Uno Pure, Griot’s Perfecting Cream, or Menzerna 3500/3800 for jeweling. I’ve used all of those and I find myself reaching for Griot’s the most with Rupes and Menzerna runner ups. CarPro is great but I don’t see enough difference to justify the additional cost though if I was only using it for personal cars, it is a great one too.

Have had good success with Scholl S30+ finishing polish on my black car. Seems to excel on soft paint, which I’m not sure yours is as I’m not familiar with that car.

I just ordered a bottle of Griots Perfecting Cream. It should be what I'm looking for.
Thanks for the recommendation

I should add that I'm going to use a Porter Cable 7424xp, with Lake Country 5.5" blue flat pads for the Griots Perfecting Cream. Then black flat pads for the Blackfire BlackICE Hybrid Liquid Wax.
Sound good??

I'm not familiar with the black fire wax, but if it is an "Old School" polymer ..are you not going to risk chalking(dust) in the seams and trim

You will be pissed if that happens on a brand new black paint

Do you have other pads to do test spots with the GPC or are you just going with what you have?

I figured the blue would work good because it has very little cut.
I maybe could use black?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220225/eef77d241a14dda269e88b9ef4e9276f.jpg
