polishing with painted pin stripes

hey folks,

i just had my truck pinstripes and teardrops repainted, now it's time to detail the truck. i know i have to cover the stripes before polishing with a pc, will blue masking tape effect the pinstripe ? any help or suggestions would be appreciated............
