Roomie just bought it on Monday (it was pissing down all day). She put it though a car wash yesterday & today I got to have a look at the paint. There are water spots everywhere.
I think it lived outside for the first two years.

Paint is *Magnetic* which is metallic gun metal looking

Today I tried Griots Complete Compound & something from Megs with orange, yellow & black pads on my 7424, & used to same stuff with finger pressure on a MF

& claying... (Adams medium)

Got nowhere. This is a peach compared to the SB Honda so I really don't want to get aggressive like I did with that #### box.

Advice?

Wow, very surprised that Griot’s Complete Compound on a DA with a foam cutting pad didn’t remove water spots.

Tried Meg's PlastX this morning, rubbed gently with a MF on a finger & they totally disappeared in seconds. Now I have to wait & see if they're gone or just hidden. Couldn't believe what a great job that stuff did. Paint was very squeaky afterwards when lightly rubbed with a fingertip.
Totally impressed.

Can't do too much today. Only did a few test spots as it's really windy today here in the desert so don't want to be *polishing* dirt into the paint.

What I learned from Yvan LaCroix was that it's a good idea to treat the water spots with a water spot remover. The spots still be there, but polishing after will clean them up.

He said that a lot times that the heat generated from machine polishing forces the minerals further down into the paint, and when the polishing oils, and or LSP applied after would reveal the spots after the oils/lsp wore away.

Whenever I have to work on a car my co-worker washes, I've had to test this, and it does work. For whatever reason he refuses to rinse with the filtered water...

I've used CarPro Spotless and Optimum MDR and they both do the job.

I would try Optimum MDR first too

Used the Plastx on a couple of scratches yesterday.... gone.

Or maybe it's my eyes. I'll take a pic with the phone later & have a look on the computer.

ok pic taken, it's hidden rather than disappeared the scratch.
