While not a vehicle, I thought you lot would be the ones to ask about what product(s) you might use to clean and protect rubber coated Olympic weight plates.

These typically get handled with hands covered in chalk dust. They're kept indoors and generally away from direct sunlight.

Maybe some 303 products?

Any suggestions?

I know these plates well

Use a APC only on these...no coatings are needed

Rubber Perp by Griots is the best rubber cleaner I've used. But AG doesn't carry it anymore. They have Griots Rubber Cleaner which I've never used. You could order through Griots.

Tuf Shine would probably work well, too.

@ducksfan, thanks for that - I see that the Rubber Prep has solvents for the active ingredients whereas the Rubber Cleaner has a mix of Cleaning Agents with pH adjuster. I suspect any of these products will work well enough to clean the chalk and any residual accumulated sweat/oils. Not as critical to remove rubber bloom and/or brake dust from my weight plates :)

I'll try my Megs D101 since I already have that on hand.

IMO that is the wrong product...to each his own

yeah, I don't think I want my plates to have a satin luster or fragrance, let alone additional oils.
