I purchased a "supa beast" (XCE-10 125) earlier this year for my 3 vehicles as well as boat. The polisher is awesome and then some in terms of paint correction on our cars.
Our boat is in a dry dock marina @ Lake Pleasant AZ outside of Phoenix. There is no electricity available for dry dock members. In the past...for boat polishing...I have used my older AG DA polisher with a 1100 watt rated inverter connected to a deep cycle battery. It worked well. Gave me 4 hours or so of "juice".
With the new "Supa Beast"....I went to audition the new polisher on the gel coat today. After connections were made.....the new Flex would not stay running. It would run for 5 seconds and stop. Obvious power issue.
I had checked the Flex website and the input power rating was 1010 watts. I was "assuming" the 1100 converter would do the trick and run the new machine.

Any thoughts and/or advice?

Sounds like the inverter is optimistic on it’s continuous output. Cordless will answer your needs.

1) Confirm the quality of the inverter ...... that means several things
2) You may need a higher continuous power rating (for a lesser quality inverter)
3) Confirm the quality of the sine wave output ....... a "dirty" output sine wave can wreak havoc on electronic equipment. "Dirty" can mean multiple things, but it may just be that the output sine wave has too many steps in it. Wish I had a picture to post but you can Google it.
