We have a 2015 BMW 328i. The black trim around the side window, specifically the trim at the back edge of the front side windows and the leading edge of the rear side windows, is impregnated with white wax residue. I have tried the usual methods of cleaning the trim with no success (simple green, wax remover, black wow cleaner, etc.). Any suggestion? The rest of the car looks great, black, but the window trim is really taking away from the detailed look. Thanks Phil

This should work: Mothers Back to Black Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner, best car wax remover plastic trim (https://www.autogeek.net/best-car-wax-remover-plastic-trim.html)

Use Solution Finish to darken the trim if needed.

Meguiars #40 or Blackfire Wax Remover have both worked well for me.

McKee’s paint prep or HyperPolish will usually clean trim (except pebbled) very well

Thank you for the suggestions. I used black wow on it again and it worked pretty well. Hopefully the problem is solved and won’t come back. I need to add some trim restorers to my Arsenal. Thanks again. Phil

Trim restoral products will work well as long as you keep the wax and sealants off them. You might want to tape off those areas when applying the LSP to keep anything off that rubber trim.
