Is there anything with enough grit that will buff out light scratches on my running boards?
I'm guessing no so what's the best way?
1000 grit, 2000 grit, 3000 grit sandpaper?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210919/af6bcda92fe2e72f74e840069bcde233.jpg

I wouldn't touch that with sandpaper. I'd think you'd need a good aluminum polish and a rotary to get those out.

Are those boards indeed stainless?

If so, I'd think that nothing would touch those scratches. (Sanding included).

I've seen a few videos about polishing SS. They start with 1000 grit wet sandpaper and go up in steps 2000 grit , 3000 grit .
That's a lot of work.
I'm looking for something easier.

You might have some luck with Autosol, Only place I know that sells it in the US is Eastwoods. It's like Simichrome, but a bit more abrasive. Generations of UK bikers swear by it. A tube will last you years.
