Did a little touch-up job to my daughter's Kia Soul. Someone hit and gouged the front bumper cover a month or so ago... No idea who or even where.

Start to finish took about an hour. Perfection was not even a consideration. This was simply a "make it disappear at 10 feet" repair. In fact, the paint I used wasn't even color code specific... It was a spray can of Rustoleum Gloss White Fast Drying High Performance Enamel that I had on the shelf. Sprayed it into the cap and applied with a brush. Color match was actually pretty close.

Far from perfect, but my daughter is happy.

Process:
- Trimmed away the raised material with a single edge razor
- Compounded the repair and surrounding area w M105
- Cleaned repair area with Isopropyl Alcohol
- Filled the gouges with JB Weld Quick
- Trimmed and leveled the JB Weld with a single edge razor and swab dampened with acetone
- Applied the touch-up paint

Is JB Weld like Bondo? BTW nice job.

Kind of, but much stronger in a thick application. I have actually used this to repair stripped female threads in a light-duty capacity.
It won't replace a Heli-coil, but it's some tough sh!t.

I always have some on hand in my shed/workshop.

Went out to grab it to show you:

This is MarineWeld, but there are different variations. Awesome stuff!

I’d call that a win!

JB Weld is an epoxy. Not my number one choice for this type of repair but much better than Bondo. It's what I had around.

Ideally, I would have used 3M Flexible Parts Repair Material but I didn't have any on hand. It's also an epoxy type material although it remains somewhat flexible when cured... Moreso than the JB Weld.
