I have a black miata that My wife got me for my birthday. The PO must have dry washed it and left bird droppings dry on it. It was full of scratches and had several etched places in the paint. I just finished applying 4 coats of Scratchx by hand. I then put a coat of Colorx on it. Looked good til the sun came out. I got approx 80% of the scratches out but the sun shows a ton of swirl marks. The boss said buy a PC7424 or I will never be happy with the finish. My question for you experts is what to order besides the pc. I need to know what type and size pads to order along with a backing plate. Also what products to use for the problems I have. If there is a specific kit to purchase that's fine. Please help an old fart out. Thanks for any suggestions

1. PC, UDM, Flex or G110
2. Flexible Backing Plate and Pads // or Edge 2000 kit
3. Menzerna SIP and 106FF polishes
4. Several Indigo towels for removal

What size pads? I have read several posts. some recommend the 6.5 others the 5.5 low profile. Sorry to be such a pain.

What size pads ? it all depends on your preference,I have both but IMO 5.5 is a better fit for a PC .

I would go with 5.5" CCS pads on the PC/UDM. If I had a Flex, I would probably try 6.5" pads due to it's power. 4" pads might come in handy for the tighter/smaller areas. I have had good luck with Menzerna polishes but also have some Optimum that I need to try.

The kit I ordered come with 2 white, 2 grey and 1 blue ccs pads in 6.5 size. The bonus is 2 5.5 orange pads. I called this morning and ordered 2 more orange and 2 whites in the 5.5 size. I had read on here that a lot of you prefer the 5.5 size over the 6.5. Thanks for your suggestions.
