This one never ceases to amaze me. When dealers have their new inventory parked out by the city sidewalk and all morning long they are being misted by the hard, rust water underground sprinkling that lines the sidewalk.

I just laugh.

Sometimes they simply don't have any other parking options depending upon their car lot.

I have a friend that works at a BMW dealership. He asked me to help him figure out a way to keep the cars on his lot clean. It's right on the water and directly behind the lot is a gravel and dirt road. When the wind blows, it blows dirt all over the cars in the car lot.

I was dismayed to tell him the only real solution to his problem would be to pave the gravel/dirt road. He said the city wouldn't do it. The next option was to enclose the parking lot and that was not a good financial option.

There's a third option - move the dealership to a better location.

To my knowledge, to this day the problem continues.

:dunno:

This is very true.

I work for a Ford dealer (I am actually in charge of the lot), and there is really no way to keep 100+ cars/trucks nice and clean in the true Autogeek fashion.

A few larger dealers in the western part of L.I. have tunnel washes that they constantly take the cars through. :wowwow:

And we all know what that does..........
