I am trying to remove dried on tree sap from roof and hood on Toyota Highlander. There are 15 spots. Have tried Tar X, Goo Gone for tree sap, Bug and tar remover, WD40, 70% Isopropyl alcohol, Brake Kleen. Have polished with Rupes blue wool pad and Course compound. Nothing is removing the sap. Does anyone have any suggestions or different products to try.

Also tried clay with a Griot's fine clay mitt

Thanks will try that.I can't believe you tried Brake Kleen already and it didn't ruin the paint, that's why I put the emoji I did. I'd be scared as hell to use mineral spirits, lacquer thinner or Brake Kleen on ANY painted surface!

Brake cleaner all day. No joke. I have used it on some heavy sap deposits on modern 2 stage paint without issue

My method is HEAT GUN. Warm it back up and it just comes off but its a sticky mess lol

oh sorry I'm a grown up and don't use emoji's. I guess my question was what to use not what you wouldn't do. But thanks for replying.

There are a lot of people with this perspective about things like emojis, social media, technology from the last decade, etc. They just avoid it all and associate it with the younger generation.

No reason to be offended.

One of our cars has sap all over the hood just like this. Looking for a way to remove it as well.
