I am going to be correcting my 2007 blue nautiques paint and there is some light oxidation covering most of the boat. I have a 6" Griots Garage dual action orbital buffer and plan on pairing it with the Marine 31 compound.

Given that I am not going to be using a rotary like most recommend, what pads should I pair with this combination of products to achieve the best results, most efficiently?

Thanks in advance!

I'm still a big fan of "system" designed approaches. I say Griots pads.

If, as you say, it's light oxidation you might be fine. And, if your getting some results with each section pass...do that section again until you're happy. Just have enough pads to change out often. Or clean the few you have often. The few boats I've done load up pads fast, especially when you're cutting down oxidation.

I was going to say the Rupes Blue Course pads that I just posted about and Mike had introduced in the thread, but I just saw that they are discontinued?

Mike, are the new Rupes D-A Course Blue Cutting pads the same thing? From the picture on AG, they don't look quite a course or rough?

I'd suggest trying one of the Griots Fast Finishing MF pads. The have decent cut. Not sure how they would work on gel coat though.
