I have a soft rollup tonneau cover on my truck bed.

Does anyone have any experience using Sonax PNS/BSD on this type of material?

I use this combo on all of the paint/glass/hard plastics and am quite satisfied with the performance.
However, I'm not sure how it would do on a soft/flexible material.

I've used it for this application and it works but it's not a one-and-done type chemistry for this material.

I believe the material you're working on is a "marine grade" vinyl.

Can you share the manufacturer?

I'm going to take a guess that I'm the only guy on planet Earth with an article on this topic.

The BAKFlip hard folding tonneau covers, although HARD - are in fact a marine grade vinyl.

Here you go,

Ha ha.... half my forum work is simply remember what I've written out of the almost 1000 articles and reviews, locating them and then sharing them. And my reviews - well they're also how-to articles.

The key with a tonneau cover is simple,

Find something you like and use it often

Don't wait for the sun and exposure to rain take it's toll. When your truck is new and the tonneau is new - now is the time to start a preventative maintenance program. Don't wait until the day comes when after washing your truck you look at the tonneau cover, (and the paint and plastic trim on the truck for that matter), you discover the tonneau cover is looking dingy and neglected and THEN try to fix it.

Thanks for the above, from their FAQ page, under

How do I care for my vinyl tonneau cover?

The vinyl fabric on your tonneau cover can be cleaned with mild soap and water, and may be hand washed or safely cleaned in the car wash of your choice. Thoroughly rinse cover to remove any soap residue. Vinyl cover can be treated with any vinyl protectants made for tonneau covers. Never clean cover with petroleum or citrus-based products, and avoid silicone based protectants. We now offer Pro-TeX™ soft tonneau protectant spray to clean, preserve and protect your soft tonneau.

As suspected, it's vinyl.

So treat with a vinyl cleaner and conditioner. Instead of the PNS product, which will work, I'd suggest these from my good and long-time friend Rick Goldstein,

I'm always so sad to say that due to lack of time and too many other things I have to do, I never get all the GREAT pictures taken at our car and boat detailing classes processed and then posted to this forum.

It's a shame too because they would actually lead to increase sales.

That said, here's the link to the last 3-day car detailing class I taught.

Pictures and Comments: 2021 February 3-Day Detailing Bootcamp Class (https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/pictures-3-day-car-detailing-bootcamp-classes/128605-pictures-comments-2021-february-3-day-detailing-bootcamp-class.html)

And here's a picture of one of 14 cars detailed in this class, (there's NO other class like the classes I teach),

And sad to say, I don't know if we have before and after pictures of the Wolfsteins Tonneau Cover products, but these are what we used to clean and protect the vinyl tonneau cover and I guarantee you - the tonneau cover looks as phenomenal as the truck and the truck looks pretty damn good.

From the Saturday class - the white Ford and this red Dodge would have been cars number 11 and 12 detailed in this 3-day class.

Rick makes good stuff. :xyxthumbs:

They real key to vinyl tonneau covers is as simple as finding a product you like and then using it once it a while. It's called,

PMs or Preventative Maintenance

There will never be a set it and forget it type product for vinyl material exposed to our dirty, sunny and rainy world.

Hope this helps...

:iagree: Wolfsteins is some good stuff. I use the cleaner and protectant on the vinyl tonneau cover that came with my truck and it works like a champ.

Ordering this kit over the weekend as my cover needs some help (haven’t stayed on top of it ) as the truck gets beat Carrying kayaks down muddy dirt roads, hauling wood, doing things a truck is suppose to do.
