Winter coating

Got a friend who wants her brand new car coated. My garage is insulated, but not heared. Temps here in Indiana are going to be in the high teens in the daytime & single digits at night. My garage will probably be above freezing, but in the 30's for the most part. I'll be using CSL. Can it be applied in these temps?

It needs to be 60 at a minimum AND it has to stay inside, out of the elements to cure, it's nowhere near the correct temp to attempt this.

You might be able to get away with the application. Put a heater in there to raise the temp.

It does need to cure before it sees the elements. A coating can typically get wet after 24 hours.

The other option is Cquartz lite. 4 hour cure time before it can get wet.

Are there any sealants people might recommend for low temps to get through the spring and to better coating weather? I know Collinite 845 is often recommended but I don’t know if even that can be applied in such low temps.

I would use a wax instead of a sealant. Thought is the polymers of a sealant would have to try to cross link and cure where as a wax is a more simple host of ingredients and would set up in the cooler temp. And you need only a few months of protection.

My son-in-law just bought a new car a couple weeks ago which they want me to coat, but that won't happen until temps are MUCH warmer. I pointed them to Griots 3-in-1 Ceramic Wax. They used it on one of the recent warm days and it seems to have worked really well. One application should easily carry them to the next warm-ish day when they can apply another layer.
