All these years I was always wondering why the browser works so good but then computer always acts slow after a couple hours or if left on standby. I was searching online and Firefox has a big problem with memory leaks (thats why almost always when using that browser the "windows virtual memory is low" pops up). Sure enough when I checked the process that damn thing is a pig on memory in comparison to say Netscape.

Always liked it but using Netscape, or dare I say IE I never run into slow down issues or memory leaks. I can have various processes going on at the same time from virus scans, to browsing multiple tabs, with music playing in the background streaming etc....if I do that with Firefox it gets slow.

I pretty much solely use Firefox, its a great browser. Memory leaks have always been an issue with it. Try the new Firefox 3 beta.

I've never had any problems with it. I switch from IE to Firefox all the time. I uninstalled the beta because it kept telling me my addons wouldn't work:mad:

FYI...Looks like my IE is pulling twice as much memory as my Firefox.

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l140/dengood1/Capture-1.jpgWeird, for me Firefox eats memory like a pig. I'm on Netscape right now with multiple tabs open doing various things and even if I hibernate/standby without restarting for days the computer runs fast like normal. I use Firefox for a day and by the end of the day I have to restart. Seems others have the same problem as I found to many reports online of people complaining of the same thing.

I've been using it for years and just put up with it, but with my business I can have 10-15+ tabs open, and Netscape works perfect.
