Cleanup after using pads and wax removing towels

Evening all,

I have some white and orange pads as well as some wax removing towels I need clean. What is the best way to do this and what should I use? Please tell me there is something here in my house already I can use.

After years of struggling to completely clean my polishing pad, this year I found the solution.

All you have to do is use your pressure washer with a narrow nozzle (I use 15 degrees). If you do it after use, they clean completely with no effort. If you let them dry with polish in them, it's best to spray them with a degreaser and let work for a few minutes before power cleaning them.

The second way that works well is to soak them in hot water with dishsoap then use a pad cleaner.

If you have neither a pressure washer nor a pad cleaner, you can let them soak in hot water with dishsoap then clean them with your thumbs until everything is gone using the free flowing water from the sink. This is time consuming but you can get them completely clean that way too.

Once they are clean, use your DA or rotary to spin them dry. Just make sure to ramp up the speed gradually or you risk them tearing away from the backplate and fly a 100 feet away :)

FWIW

I throw everything into the washing machine and dryer using a dedicated microfiber detergent - sometimes putting a load through 2 wash cycles before drying and our washing machine is set-up for a double rinse.

I didn't believe the washing machine would clean pads until I tried it. And they spin enough of the moisture out they dry quicker.
