No Yellow Paint = Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint System

I did my Test Spot using a white pad and the Z1 is white in color. Had this been single stage paint you would see yellow on the pad after I did my Test Spot

303 Aerospace Protectant

This classic Corvette has a brand new vinyl top on it. After a light cleaning, I applied 303 Aerospace Protectant.

Flexible clear plastic windows i.e. Isinglass

Not only is 303 Aerospace Protectant for vinyl, it's also for clear plastic windows or vinyl windows like you see on this Corvette. It protect them and also restores clarity.

Comments

The new Dr. Beasley's Z1 works great as you can see by the before and after results in the pictures above. Besides excellent correction ability, shine and gloss, this AIO also leaves behind durable ceramic nanocoating protection that can last up to one year.

Modify cut by modifying pads
I increased the cutting ability for the passenger door and the driver's side rear quarter panel by using Lake Country 6.5" Force Hybrid Foam Cutting pads (orange). These two areas had much worse swirls and scratches. For the rest of the car I used Lake Country 6.5" Force Hybrid Foam Polishing pads (white)

The stuff I used,

Pads used: 6.5 inch Lake Country Force Hybrid Orange Cutting Pad (https://www.autogeek.net/lc-hyb-2165o.html) and 6.5 inch Lake Country Force Hybrid White Polishing Pad (https://www.autogeek.net/lc-hyb-6165w.html)

Tool used: FLEX Supa BEAST (https://www.autogeek.net/flex-xce-10-8-125-corded-polisher.html) with 6" backing plate (https://www.autogeek.net/flex-xfe-6-inch-backing-plate.html)

Towels used: Storm Gray Edgeless Microfiber Polishing Cloths (https://www.autogeek.net/storm-gray-12pack.html)

And of course, Dr. Beasley's Z1 - Get yours here,

Dr. Beasley’s NSP Z1 (https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/redirect-to/?redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.autogeek.net%2Fdr-beasleys-nsp-z1.html)

Tips Videos

As I detailed this video I made 9 Tips Videos. These are short clips showing how I would tackle different aspects of detailing a car like this. If you're an Instagram person, you can find them on my Instagram page. If you're a Facebook person, you can find them on my Facebook page.

Mike Phillips Facebook Page - Video Page (https://www.facebook.com/Mike.Phillips.Autogeek/videos)

Instagram (https://www.autogeek.net/16oz.html)

FWIW - One of my good friends in this industry watched all 9 of the Tips Videos for this car and he said,

I really liked these tips videos because they show real-world tips and techniques for how to approach different aspects of each part of the car that was detailed.

I asked him,

What about how the videos are choppy or not smooth because I'm holding the camera as I also do the "thing" I'm showing.

He said not only did he not care, he prefers the organic, original style the information is presented.

Good question - the answer is “no”.

Here’s pad after doing a Test Spot - there’s no yellow paint coming off the car.

I know a lot of people may not know this, but the 303 Aerospace Protectant is also for use on clear plastic windows also referred to as Isinglass.

I did wipe the inside down to, both inside and outside were wiped using the Forrest Green Edgeless microfiber towels I show a lot on this forum.

Besides a quality product, it is VITAL that anything you wipe or touch clear plastic windows with is clean and uncontaminated.

Thanks for sharing that tip, Mike! I never knew that 303 could be used there as well.

I didn't know this either until we made this TV Commercial. Before filming the commercial I spoke with the original owner of 303 Products, Roger Dyer, and this is one of the tidbits he shared with me.

I share some other things about 303 that Roger shared with me in this write-up.

Few more pictures....

Something I teach in all my classes is if a car has any britework, that is chrome, stainless, aluminum or nickel trim, as you're buffing out the car also buff out all the britework.

While the top was down, I ran the polisher over the stainless steel window frame. Check out the difference,
