Had something fall on my truck, dented it. I’m have someone come fix it.

But I want to know if the paint will crack later on. Also I saw some videos where they got clear coat with some hammers to get it aligned?

I know this isn’t detailed related but it’s also about paint being damaged.

Help

Might.

Might not.

If your PDR guy can get the tools in there, it's quite possible they can get it out, and only thing you may have to do is a spot polish and re-apply LSP.

PDR is tricky on curves and body lines, but the guy I use takes the challenge and usually gets them out pretty darn well. As a matter of fact when I told him he couldn't, he took that as a challenge and did it.

PDR is done behind the panel, but I doubt it will crack paint.

Again depends... but usually just a touch-up quick polish and LSP will set it right.

Most of the times no harm to the paint. But if there's paint transfer or deep scratches with the ding (not your case) I have seen PDR guys use wet sanding and then a rotary afterwards so you'd be left with holograms to fix. When it's really just a dent with no paint issues, they should be able to fix w/o any harm to you. Even the hammer they use to fix the high spots (after pushing from the back) don't usually damage anything. It's delicate work and if done properly leads to a perfect outcome.

Some asshole did me the pleasure of 4 dings in one last winter. I got all the paint transfer and scratches out but the dents are still driving me so crazy that I have a PDR guy working on them tomorrow. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201001/7713240fdc1944f18b34f3b97ab83d4b.jpg

Guys question, wife said that she had a car once with a small dent.

She had someone repair the dent, and it started cracking months later.

Please be honest

@DeadlySheds, I know not to park close. You should see me, I park usually far and walk it’s been helpful. I don’t park next to cars unless I have to. I park far away from everyone.

Sent from my iPhone using AGOnlineI was parked way far away as usual. My wife tells me that we may as well walk from home! Hahaha. I believe this one was intentional. Maybe retribution for me getting ahead of them or something. If it were a mistake I cannot see them doing the hit 4 times either.

Ok, that was malicious intent. How did you get ahead of him?

My wife tells me the same thing we might as well walk from home. Hahaha

Crazy how people can be, I would never do that, don’t worry karma will get them.

Sent from my iPhone using AGOnlineOh I'm just assuming that's what happened as I was parked in a spot where there were no parking areas on both sides of me.

I figure maybe I "cut them off" unintentionally or got ahead of them. People are quite aggressive where I live and they feel very offended if you try to pass or anything. And I also canvassed every red car in the whole complex looking for the red car with no luck.

Wow, what state you in?
Here in Texas they’ll tail gate you to no end, really sad.

Most of San Antonio has California residents moved here. These people think the road is a NASCAR track. It’s unbelievable.

Sent from my iPhone using AGOnlineI'm actually in Eastern Canada. Us Canucks have a polite reputation but don't worry, there are jerks everywhere! Hahaha

Here in Florida we have to worry about half senile drivers who will think nothing of making jerky driving moves. I park super far away so at least I don't have to deal with them in the lot.
