Hi, I received this week on my Autogeek order the Carpro Dlux that I plan to install in the next few weeks, by the way, awesome packaging and fast shipping from Autogeek. My 2 questions are

1) Dlux bottle says Pr. (I assume that is the manufacturing date) 10 07 20, so the format date is dd/mm/yy???
I guess so cause we are not in october yet.

2) the Ex date is not there so I dont know what is the expiration date, does anybody know how long it lasts without opening??? and then also how long after opening???

As long as it’s not crystallized it’s fine.

This is why I order coatings directly from the coating manufacturer as they tend to sit in the shelves of distributors for awhile.

I noticed the bottle I purchased recently only had the manufacture date too. I've had a bottle last for more than a year after opening in the past if that helps at all.

Based on my bottle of Reload, it is day/month/yearhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200927/11f3902717e5a8acdf13f725e6e2d058.jpg

Definitely dd/mm/yy like most of the world uses and not US format.
Made in July so it’s pretty fresh. Good for about 2 years, once opened about 1 year but I have used it well past one year after opening and it was fine. Since it’s primarily used for trim I didn’t care if it wasn’t “fresh”.

And if this is your first time using Dlux, don’t let the fact that it’s very sticky to remove make you think it’s old coating. The high content of SiO2 in this coating makes it hard to level, you’ll want to spread it as evenly as possible and not wipe a lot to level it. On textured trim you don’t even need to level it. Only required on smooth trim, plastics, and wheels.

I plan to pply it next month when the temps drop a bit to have more working time

I wouldn’t say it self levels, just be sure to apply a thin and even film to be able to level with one or two wipes, otherwise it starts to feel like glue. It probably only needs 1 minute, waiting too long will probably make it even stickier.
For wheels I have started using the same coating I’m applying to the paint and have used Dlux only on trim and exhaust tips as it’s much easier to apply to those.

Gotta' get over that fear/intimidation sooner or later. A high spot is not the end of the world.

I was a little worried before using the one you sent me, Mike.

But I quickly found that if you concentrate, pay full attention to what you are doing, and work small areas, there is no reason to worry about anything.

Maybe when graphene (supposedly more forgiving on the installation) becomes more a real thing and less a hype I will be more motivated but I really like those 2 coatings that I mentioned above looks. Next spring I will have to make a choice.
