View Full Version : OTC substitute for Aquawax

Went to go use some AW after washing the car this weekend and found the bottle cracked and most had leaked out. Thought I still had some of a gallon left, but must have used that up also....

For now, looking for an OTC substitute until I have a big enough order for AG to get another gallon of AW. I use it as a drying aid that gives a little protection and gloss. With so much out there now, not sure what to get....

Thanks,
Neil

Most all Napa Auto Parts stores can order you in Duragloss AW if they don't have it on hand.

This would be my vote too. It's a great product.

I think my local Harbor Freight Tools caries it too.

Thanks for the quick replies. Did a quick web search, doesn't look like the local HF or Napa carry Aquawax. May need to stop in the stores to be sure though. If not, I can pick up some Meg's easily enough until I get a big order together for AG.

Did a quick search and there is actually one about a mile from my work (called Fisher Auto Parts though for some reason). Might pop down there during lunch tomorrow and see what they have in stock.

Thanks!

It surprised me too. Last time I was in the store, the detailing area of my local store had exactly four liquid products on the shelf. Meguiars 105, 205, #7 Glaze, and DG Aquawax.

Meguiars ceramic detailer or TW solutions hybrid wetwax. The wetwax is a dedicated drying aid.
