I bought a new F150 in Magna red, very dark, looks black in the shade. I waxed it with Collinite paste and over applied it, (more is better right?)LOL.
It has a lot of swirls which will buff out by hand with a towel but re-appear after sitting in the sun. I want to remove the old wax a gently as possible and without any abrasives since the paint is new. What is the best product to remove the wax? I plan to then use Collinite insulator. The truck is a second vehicle and spends most of the time in the garage.

Thanks
Chet

Welcome to AGO, Chet! :)

I work for a Ford dealer, and the Magma Red is a unique (and great) color for sure. Looks different in certain lights like you said.

Was the Collinite "paste" 476S by chance? If you over applied it, it will be a tough job to remove.

Did the dealership detail guys touch the paint? If so, you have some correction to do.

Do you own a DA polisher?

Any of these products should remove the "wax" and none of them have any abrasives, despite being called "polishes".

Yes it was 476S. No I don't have a DA polisher, gave it away last year. I may just give it some time to naturally wear off some before addressing it.
Thanks.
