Seems as if every time I try to seal my Finish Kare 1000p, the metal lid never really seats correctly. It kinda pops left to right when I try to push it flat. What am I doing wrong??

Duh... I have one too, no issues.

Just grab some tape and tape it down....

I do not have FK 1000, but I do use Collinite 476.

Have you tried to evenly snap the lid on? Is your can perhaps slightly damaged? (Bent or egg-shaped?)

Dont know... Mine isnt bad at all. The 476 that I have snaps flat, and the Megs 26 does too. But this FK doesnt want to cooperate

Pull yours out, take a look at it for me. Is it FULLY seated or have about a 1/16" gap around the tin and lid area?

Use a rubber mallet and smack it

I told you it was some powerful stuff.
(Hard to put the genie back in the bottle,
so to speak.)

•To reseal the lid on a tin of FK1000P:

-I sometimes have to use a secret
incantation from an ancient grimoire:

-Or, I center the lid over the tin; then I’ll
drape a small cloth over the lid/tin; and then
it’s time to play smack-a-mole ‘til the lid seats
on the tin.

Just kidding.
I’ve never experienced your situation when
resealing FK1000P. I just use my bare hands.

LOL. Honestly, I guess I mis-spoke. Its FLAT and sealed but there is a gap around the edge of the can and lid. I never noticed this since I FINALLY got time to use this for the first time. Ya know, Ive been here for years and JUST used it lol.

Also Bob, I found an old post about you saying to use 3M hand glaze, is that just a polish?

Here’s how mine looks out in the garage right now;
and it’s sealed up tight as a drum. (As a reference
point: When I hear the lid go “pop”—it’s on!)

Yes, it’s a very, very mild polish.
IMO, it really enhances the gloss of the CC.

Thanks. If you put your fingers where the arrows are and push on each one, one at a time, back and forth, does the lid rock a bit side to side?

On the 3m imperial, can it be used as a DA polish? What color pad? And would you say it works better than any other polish, like Hyper Polish or Griots Perfecting cream?
