Is it just me, or has Safari become one of the worst web browsers ever?

What happened?

I don’t have any issues with it. On my Macs I like Safari better than Chrome. On Windows I prefer Chrome.

Some say, the Safari developers prefer New York style pizza over Chicago Deep Dish...

I honestly have no idea, I use it though because I’m on an iPhone and Safari is the standard web browser. I actually don’t know how it stacks up to others since it’s basically the only one I use.

Issues I’ve noticed say over the last 6 months-
It does seem to crash some what often
Won’t load a page at all and just seems to “fail”
Sometimes it will load extremely slowly but if I close the tab and load the exact same page again, it pops right up!

Those are the most common issues for me.

What’re you experiencing? Any other browsers you use/prefer?

NY "pizza" is overrated, as is Safari.

Give Firefox a try ...

I have a Mac mini, and I have problems with just about everything loading. And Amazon searches are now a no-go. I've tried all the standard resets/fixes.

You're on thin ice, punk. :P

Everything about Safari to me is breaking down now. (compared to other browsers).

I loved Safari, and I know every internet provider is different, but mine sucks now.

Here I was worrying about 57Rambler when I should’ve been watching my back the whole time!!

Like he suggested though, maybe Firefox? I know my friend uses it exclusively on his Mac and has for years now. My wife has it on here too but not sure if she uses one more or the other.

Paul, how old is that Mac mini and is it running the latest macOS?

I agree on iOS Safari does have a glitch here and there, mostly to blame on the sites loading but on macOS it is very stable for me, on multiple Macs, none a mini though. One MacBook Air, one MacBook Pro, and one iMac.

Circa 2015 (give or take a year).

I am no computer man for sure, but the wife is very IT savvy. She says it's as up to date as it can be, and it is only used as a browser.

New York style is plainly better as is safari.[emoji23] In all seriousness though it does seem that is has been glitching more recently. I still love it because it’s Apple and is a distant relative to New York style

Yeah, it’s not that old. My iMac is from late 2012 and runs like a champ. If we do end up getting another stimulus check I might replace it with a new iMac. Just due to age, not due to issues running my stuff.

Visit the Firefox download page in any browser. It will automatically detect the platform and language on your computer and recommend the best version of Firefox for you. For Macs, OS X 10.9 or higher is required. For iOS, I believe you need 11.4 or higher. Of course your hardware must be capable of running these versions.

I use Brave on my laptop and on my IPhone...it blocks about 90+% of the ads that automatically pop-up.

It does have its glitches when buying things from a site that you haven’t been to, it blocks the pop up to check out, its a quick fix though.

Might want to check it out.

Me neither, Paul.

However: I’ve been surfing Safari
(trouble-free) since 1962.
