I'm looking to purchase the Flex 10-8 125 or the Rupes LHR15 MkIII. They are almost the same price. I've read a number of posts about forced rotation DA polishers vs free-spinning random orbital DA polishers, so I know they are just different -- apples and oranges. But I've heard that, assuming proper technique, random orbital DAs will generally finish better than geared force rotation DAs? Is that true, or is it just a myth? I'm not a professional; but if you gave one professional the Flex and another professional the Rupes and gave them each the same amount of time to work on a car with moderate paint imperfections, would you expect their results to be different?
