Today's topic is all about your ENTRY LEVEL detailing package when detailing for dollars. Every Pro Detailer should have at least 3 packages or menu items to offer your customers. Not everyone has a toy that they're willing to spend big bucks on for a a full paint correction and ceramic coating. In fact - the majority of the market simply wants a wash and wax.

Today we'll go over how to use an AIO when doing what I call,

High Quality Production Detailing

And I'll explain where this package fits into your detailing business.

You can name your different packages whatever you like. Some people go with,

The Platinum Package
The Gold Package
The Silver Package

Or

5 Star
4 Star
3 Star

Me? I keep it simple and use the actual word - package. Never make your customer WORK at trying to figure out how to do business with you.

Package 1
Package 2
Package 3

Today's live detailing class will go over what your package 1 detailing service should look like and include.

See you at 3:00pm

Here's the current condition of the 2017 Hyundai Elantra

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/4061/ProdDetailing_0001.JPG

My guess is much of the scum you see will wash off but I'll bet $100.00 there are IMPRINT RINGS in the paint.

And she's all swirled-out. Once I get her washed and clayed, the swirls will show better in pictures.

This class is going to cover a LOT of topics.

Interesting.

I have 6 packages. 3 Basic Detailing ones and 3 more intesive ones.

Basic Detailing

Clean & Prep for Sale or Trade
New Vehicle Polish & Prep
Basic Polish & Protect

For sale cars typically are just a super thorough wash/decon with a spray wax and maybe a polisher used on certain areas or where needed. Otherwise, it's a quickie to help it sell. The latter two are very similar in time frame but on my New Car one I start with a coating as the LSP vs a One Step Traditional Sealant. Polishers are used on latter two.

Paint Correction

Premium Enhancement Polish
Elite Enhancement Correction
Signature Level Perfection

The first is essentially a polish, the Elite is a Compound and Polish as is the perfection package, only there I really lean into it to get to a full or perfect correction. I price it to also include coatings of glass, trim and wheels.

For me it's summed up by a matrix I put together showing the starting point of a vehicle's condition and where the customer wants to end. Often times I can get a full correction with a basic one step barring it's not a hard German paint that's totally marred up.

All good.

What I teach NEW guys - getting into this business is when they START they should at least have 3 packages.

Of course, a person can create as many as they like. I have 3 packages for exterior only detailing and on paper I have 3 packages for interior detailing but in practice, I really only have 1 package for interior detailing because if a car interior is so dirty that I don't want to do it I send it on down the road.

But of course, each person can tailor the number of packages and what each package includes to match their own personal preferences but to START off a new business - 3 packages works fine.

Just finished washing, claying and then drying the demo car. Here's a short walk-around video with a swirl finder light showing the paint defect level.

Just added the YouTube edition of the Facebook Live video to the first post in this thread.

Lots of good questions throughout the video.

You can decide for yourself if the answers are any good. :)

Ive been detailing for others for over 10 years now, before that just my OCD about my own cars and learning. Two things I learned from this video is

1: When doing a paint enhancement detail (one step) I USE WAY TOO LITTLE PRODUCT!!!

2: Also I need to get in the habit of using more pads and not waste time cleaning them.

THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO SPECIFICALLY BUT FOR THE WHOLE SERIES ALSO Mike and Yancy.
