I have read on here that it is best to dry you car with a blower of some sort instead of towel drying. Since I don't have a ton of money, (thanks somewhat in part to auto geek :D) is there a cheap blower that people use that seems to work good?

If you have a shop vac, put the hose on the exhaust end. take motor assembly out of dirt container...voila!

That's the cheapest alternative I can think of. :D

Vehicle Drying:
The Air Wand is a high-velocity air nozzle that blows air up to 200 M.P.H. to remove water, from surfaces and hard-to-reach areas. The Air Wand greatly accelerates nature's drying action with no adverse effects to existing fragile finishes and delicate surfaces. The new, revolutionary Air Wand saves work, time, and money! Never again use old, scratchy towels and elbow grease to care for your prized possessions. Simply attach the new Air Wand to the blower and get all your week-end jobs done in a fraction of the time, with a fraction of the effort - http://www.airwand.com/description.htm (http://www.airwand.com/description.htm)

Drying a Vehicle using water:
· Use a low-pressure, high volume water flow to `break' the surface tension of the water laying on the paint surface with the Ultimate Nozzle™ (or if you prefer remove the nozzle) you will see the water `sheet' off, move the hose down to "feed" the sheet as it flows down the panel, this will keep the `sheet' wide and it will carry away more water.
· The remaining water can be removed using a 24" x 30"waffle weave towel (Sonus Der Wunder Drying Towel) by pulling it across the panel or using a blotting motion, do not rub This gets rid of all the remaining drops and leaves only a little moisture, which can be removed with the towel.
· Apply a light mist from a quick detailing spray (Pinnacle Crystal Mist or Zanio Z8) to the whole surface (this reduces surface friction induced marring by creating a slicker surface for the towel to glide over),
· Use the blow side of a vacuum cleaner or an Air Wand to remove water from crevices, wing mirrors, license plates, etc
· Use a water blade to remove water from glass surfaces
· Dry doorjambs, sill area, seams and crevices of hood and trunk with a Waffle Weave towel

i am going to pick up a cordless blower this weekend but ihave had great success with a water blade.

it has never once scratched my car. but i do like the idea of a blower a little better, then just blot dry with a MF

Sounds like I'm getting one too. Is there a good place to by one or do they all sell about the same things? Which blower do people like best?

I always use an electric blower, never had to use any type of drying towel, especially when a car is already prepped then water just blows right off. I mainly use the blower b/c on my truck and some other cars, the water likes to collect and continue to drip in certain nooks and crannies of which a few times over with the blower force out (especially window seals on the outside).

After blowing, I just go over like normal with a qd and microfiber. Less touching = less marring

does anyone actually read what TOGWT says hahahahaha Talk about copy and pastehe wrote multiple detailing books if I'm not mistaken
