View Full Version : Sound comparison (video) - Flex 3403 vs. Makita 7227

Ok, this comparison for a recent thread on another board that questioned the sound level of the Flex 3403. You be the judge of which is louder. In person, I think that the Flex is louder. I've even thought about wearing small ear plugs while using it.

Does the flex have the same speed controller as the 9227
If you can only choose from those speeds seen in that picture of the flex, then that's not very good

Mr. Dream Machines - The Flex speed control dial is just like the Flex as you can adjust it all the way through the listed speeds. It starts at 1100rpm's though whereas the Makita starts at 600rpms.

I would like the hear both machines off of a solid surface. Solid/hard surfaces amplify noise.
