Hey guys,
I polished, sealed and waxed my car around 12 months back. Since then, its been washed once or twice a month and dried with Beadmaker. The car is garaged every night.
I sealed it with 2 layers of Power Lock Ultimate Protection and finally waxed with Collinite 845.

The paint has been standing well. Now I feel like it requires a top up, since the hydrophobic qualities have reduced.
The car paint is in good condition generally speaking, with some light marring (which can only be noticed from certain light angles and up close).
I am in 2 minds, whether I should option a) strip wash the sealant, polish the car and seal + wax again, or b) wash and wax on top of existing sealant?

FWIW, the car is late Acura TSX (Honda Accord Euro here in Australia) in metallic forged silver.

Please advise me. Thanks in advance.

I would polish and re-apply.

I do the same thing yearly as well.

Remember, a good correcting polish will strip off the old sealant/wax and correct your light marring all in one step. :)

I agree with PaulMys.

If you don’t have time for the polish then you can probably wash, then top with Collinite 845 again. Not sure how well Powerlock would re-apply as the wax components in Collinite may interfere with the sealant... but with how long it’s been, it may not be an issue. If you don’t polish this time around then, do it next time if possible or else you’re continually sealing more built-up grime each time you add without paint cleansing or polishing.

I’d do a baggie test to help determine what course to take.. If it passes the baggie test and there’s no contaminants stuck to the paint then simply re apply your choice of protection.

However If there’s bonded contaminants I’d clay, polish, and re seal.

How often have you been applying the Beadmaker? Reason I ask is because I haven’t experienced it going weak with frequent application. I recommend using it as a drying aid after Every wash in order to see great results... Not “once per month” or “every 2-3 washes” it should be used after every wash for optimum results.

I use Breadmaker after every wash. It is my go to drying aid.
