Hello,

I am looking for a steam cleaner to use for my cars and house. I have been looking at different models under 300.00. My question is what is the temperature needed to kill germs. Some models don’t specify what the temperature they reach. If anyone has any suggestions on what to buy that would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have been looking at different models under 300.00.

The models I see most people talking about are the McCulloch brand.

We sell the Vapamore MR-100 on the AG Store for $299.00

Vapamore MR-100 PRIMO Steam Cleaning System (https://www.autogeek.net/vapamore-mr-100-primo-steamer.html)

I've never used either. In my classes I show the Chief and the Dupray models that are over the $300.00 price point.

I tell you what - the thing that really separates a GREAT steam cleaner from a crappy steam cleaner are the ATTACHMENTS. It's the attachments the enable YOU to use the steam. The Vapor Chief has GREAT attachments.

Chief Steam Cleaners (https://www.autogeek.net/chief-steam-cleaners.html)

And the best bang for your buck it the entry level CONTINUOUS FILL model, this one,

Chief Steamer Refill 100 Steam Cleaner (https://www.autogeek.net/chief-steamer-refill-100.html)

The cool thing about the Chief brand is the ALL come with the same high quality attachments. Other brands don't do this. The less you spend the worse the attachments. Chief got this aspect right.

I bought the Chief mini for just under $400. Build quality superior to the McCullogh (which I also own, but is showing lots of wear and deterioration). Spend once versus buying again a few years later. Mike’s the man, great recommendation.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Quality never costs money, it makes money. I've never met anyone that regretted buying quality tools.

That said, I've never used the McCullogh steamer but I see it to be the steamer everyone on Facebook recommends.
