so i picked up a wholesale lease turn in 05 CTS-V its alittle rough, the bumper has been repainted, and the hood has been wet sanded. the paint is a easy 7  i bust out 106ff and the PC with a orange pad for a day of :buffing: nothing not a damn thing. you cant even tell i taped off a 1/3 of the hood other than the light stuff :o

so before i order some stronger stuff, what should i be looking at 85rd, stronger? another brand? Feed back please

now for the candy

What machine are you using? Any pics of the defects? SIP by menzerna with yellow foam or better yet, wool pad...both using a rotary. That is the machine for defects that are challenging. It also works faster and does not get the paint as hot.

that color is a 1000.00 option, and carries a pearl clearcoat. I use to use Menzerna IP and FP on ours with nice results.

I just emailed a guy with a s/c 383 in his, not sure for sale, but we'll see :righton: . Love V's. Been thinking of picking one up for a awhile now as I want a sedan with a V8 and manual trans.

I've personally never worked on that particular caddy, but when 106ff didn't do the job for me on cerami clears, Menz SIP always worked well for also.

Just re-iterating what everyone else has been saying.

i could search but why not ask :wall: whats the difference with SIP and IP . IP looks to be what i need based on 'age' and repair' does one break down better ?

SIP is more geared for cerami clear coats and harder paints. I believe SIP and PO106ff are the only Menz polishes specifically designed for cerami clears. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

you are correct, however one addition 085rd.304. Just remember 106FF is actually a very light polish when working on cerami-clear and likely why it works better on convential paints.
