I got a new 4K OLED TV from BestBuy.

They recommended and said I should get this HDMI cable below.

Regular Price was $160 but they discounted it to $99. I thought it was very expensive.

I think I'm going to return it and get some cheaper 4K HDMI cable from Amazon.

I don't know much about video/audio but any 4K HDMI cable from Amazon ought to be fine right ?

Pls advise. Thx.

Return it. This will do just fine and I got this from Best Buy on Cyber Monday last year. It does just fine on my 4k LG 65 inch smart TVhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191216/3d11c82b657ec1a08e9b620383780e32.jpg

Agree with others, don't fall for the expensive HDMI cable trap. Monoprice offerings are adequate for almost all applications. The only time to spend more money is when the cable is subject to physical abuse such as extreme or repeated bending which can fracture the twisted pairs of wires inside the cable.

One note on OLED TV's ... take caution to not allow static images to remain onscreen for long periods of time or you could get screen burn-in. Worst offenders are channel logos.

I have a variety of HDMI cables, audioquest to the free ones the cable company gives you, and there is a difference. You will get more clarity and better colors with a pricier HDMI cable, but you will really only notice it on larger TV, larger than 70 inches. Dont go really cheap, but you do not need to go as expensive as audioquest either.

They should be fired for convincing you to spend $99 on a $5 cable.

Agree on monoprice. I’m in similar situation as you. Just picked up an LG OLED65 C9. I bought all new cables from monoprice last week and connected the cables yesterday. No issues, and 4K coming in through Roku looks amazing. No need for a $100 cable that I can see.

Thx. Don't forget to send in to LG the Disney+ Promotion claim.

I've sent in my claim, just waiting for LG to send me the Disney+ redemption code. I'm hoping they'll send it before the holidays. cheers.

And people call Auto Dealers 'stealerships'...that's just absurd for a cable!

When its a digital signal on the cable then you just need to worry about the bandwidth and if it has enough/proper shielding. When its an analogue signal on a cable (RCA to RCA cable) then cable quality matters and is audible. (yes I understand that the digital signal is really an analogue representation of a digital on/off signal)

Expensive HMDI cables are a rip off. People have been falling for this forever. The only time to step up to a better cable is when you are running lengths of over 30 feet. The difference between a $5 cable and a $100 cable is $95. Monster cabled started this bs and the myth continues.
