Hi folks,
Thanks for all the tips gleaned over the years and will certainly start off by stating that I am by no means an 'expert', just a person who enjoys weekend detailing. I have been a very long term user of Jescar Powerlock Plus and have resisted ceramic coatings (don't want to dive into why here as I know it may be controversial!). I love it because the sealant lasts a very long time (above other things like cost, ease of use, etc).
Am I reading the MSDS of Powerlock Plus right? This paint sealant has silicone in it, or better yet, the stuff that you find in ceramic coatings.
I'll attach the MSDS for both Powerlock plus and Silex's 9H. I'm not a chemist, so I had to take a look at what the active ingredient is for ceramic coatings, and it's this: PDMS. https://blog.iglcoatings.com/the-sci...amic-coatings/
(https://blog.iglcoatings.com/the-science-of-ceramic-coatings/)Hmm, seems like it won't accept my attachment. I'll copy/paste the relevant MSDS links where I talked about this on Audiworld (I own a 2019 A8). (mods please remove links if this breaks the rules here. I have no idea!)

Can you experts pls provide some additional clarification here? Was PowerLock Plus indeed some fancy pre-ceramic type of coating before it became popular? Was it unique to Powerlock plus or was PDMS typically found in sealants across the board?
Thank you!
