I'm looking to get a tar/sap remover and was curious if there was much difference between CarPro TarX and Optimum T.A.R. I tend to lean towards Optimum's product because of my car's coating and I want to keep the synergy between products. That being said, some of the CarPro items are just flat out better, so I have them as well.

So, TarX or T.A.R.?

Thanks!

I haven’t used optimum’s product. But tarx has yet to inflict any damage on the various coatings I have used it on.

There is certainly nothing wrong with staying in the product family.

I too have never used the Opt (but I would bet anything it is a great product as the rest of theirs are) but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tar-X. Never let me down. Between sticker residue and road splatter on the rockers of cars it really works.

I always use citrol266 if cars not coated. I have a miss link in my supplies for cars that are coated I have not tried tarx but might have to now. I didn't know it worked that well plus if its coating safe that's great. Good info in thread
