What do you feel is the best self cleaning protection that's NOT a traditional coating. In the past I've used FK1000 and o thought it did well, lasted months on end minimal if ever spoting and great dirt repellency. So what do you guys think what's your opinion?

I haven't used a coating on paint. (One cool guy on here sent me some gloss coat for my wife's Jeep wheels). ;)

But I have used several Meg's products, 3D, Collinite.

Self-cleaning? Hmm...... Not sure I have seen exactly that, but hosing crud off the vehicle IS easier with my 476s compared to nothing on the paint.

Polish Angel High Gloss.... but if SiO2/TiO2 maintenance sprays are too coating-ish for this thread, then I suppose PBL Sealant or PNS.

Yeah the Polish Angel stuff is a step above most anything other than a coating I’ve used.

When I here self cleaning I think of how easy water beads AND rolls off vehichle. If this is what you mean PA Cosmic has beat PNS, TW SNS, Hydrosilex, Reload, Clutch by a lot.

I’d even go so far as to say it may give most coating lite’s a run for their money.

I guess I mean ease of cleaning as in like you spray it with a hose and pressure washer and the dirt just washes off without agitation

IMO:
FK1000P fills the bill.
Still: ”King of the Hill”

I’d be interested too! I can’t get anything off even With the cquk3.0. Would love to do a touchless maintenance

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkCars are easier to clean when coated but spot so much more and then it seems like you have to wash more often or at least to a more in-depth clean more often. With fk I could get away with a quick pressure wash blast and then a drive dry to get me by for another week or two

You could give the McKee's SiO2 wax a try. You could also wait for the new Meguiar's M27 Hybrid Ceramic Sealant. It is going to be a bit hard to find a product that just needs to be rinsed without agitation.

Guy from Forensic Detailing Channel said he has only seen self cleaning in action one time and it was Wet Coat. Probably a fluke. I assume self cleaning involves encapsulation followed by runoff? Greater bead angle as well.

Per Griot's: "They also have "self-cleaning" properties, which is defined by the resistance to soil, grime, oil, alkaline, and acids."
