Just want to add I have used d 301 finishing wax with meguiars finishing microfiber pad on 2016 Toyota camery
in black. Used as directed
for deeper stuff even deeper scratches I used the Kevin brown modown method with d301 finishing wax.
i did an ipa wipe off to test.
You might want to try this on soft Toyota paint.

2001 Honda cv-r barn find (with out the barn). The thing was trashed
Decontamination was very hard
Used surbuff pads and d301 polishing wax 1 step Thing looks like new
Just putting it out there

Just putting it out thereAny pics? D301 is a "finishing wax" ment to be used after d300. I have used it. It does not cut like a polish. D301 contains fillers so really it may look like the deeper scratches as you say are being removed but really..more than likely what you are seeing is them being filled or hidden by the fillers.

Dont get me wrong, the product works good for a temporary gloss enhancer. But i would not recommend using it as a one step "polish"...just not ment for it. Many many more actual polishes or even aio's that would be better suited. Just my opinion of the product.

I hear what you are saying and I have used ipa wipe off carpro eraser and so far so good.
Been working good for me on Honda and Toyota
The surbuff pads on da took off all the oxidation and left a new car glow.
Really surprised me on that barn find That had no barn
